About Ben McDarmont
The story so far...
Ben has been fascinated by photography every since he was given his first camera as a young boy. Ben experimented with different cameras from manual film slrs to toy cameras and more recently digital slrs.
During his university years Ben had some commercial photography experience in event and sports photography. Inspired by the likes of Ken Duncan who happened to have a gallery down the road, Ben was keen to capture the local scenery, and set out to capture his favourite Central Coast beaches. The resulting images can be seen in the Australian Beaches online gallery. The images achieved some local popularity and commercial success.
Over the next few years Ben travelled to destinations such as China, Vanuatu, United Kindom, France, Italy, Czech Republic to capture images from the other side of the world.

What's next?
Ben hopes to purchase a specialist panoramic camera this year. The camera will shoot in 6x17 film format, allowing for 2 metre plus enlargements.
